Logistics expert Janne Hyvärinen

Logent in Lahti welcomes Janne Hyvärinen as its new logistics expert. Janne brings a fresh and innovative perspective to logistics, combined with strong expertise in quality management and project work. He thrives on change and believes that even small steps can lead to significant results.

Graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering from LUT University, Janne’s first exposure to logistics came during a work experience period in middle school, shelving spare parts in a warehouse. Since then, his career has focused on quality management and project-based work.

Janne views the role of a logistics expert in internal logistics as essential for ensuring the company’s operational efficiency. His responsibilities include optimizing warehouse management, production planning, order processing, and other internal processes to ensure smooth and cost-effective material flows.

“Logistics is often an overlooked area in many companies. Internal logistics covers warehouse management, production planning, order handling, and other internal processes. A logistics expert’s role is to optimize these processes to ensure smooth, cost-effective flows. By investing in internal logistics, we can generate savings for our customers. With our expertise, we can enhance processes and add both quality and efficiency,” Janne explains.

Data-driven decisions combined with creativity

Janne is used to making decisions based on data but emphasizes the importance of exploring bold and creative ideas.

“In this work, using Excel is typical, and honestly, the numbers are fascinating. Data helps us plan, and existing information should be leveraged in decision-making. At the same time, experience must be considered while also keeping an eye on future trends. Logistics is evolving incredibly fast. What seems like a crazy idea today could be everyday practice in three years,” says Janne.

High-quality, customer-focused approach

With extensive experience in quality management, Janne brings valuable insight into the continuous development of internal logistics.

“I’ve had the opportunity to observe and improve internal logistics across different companies. It’s been great to see that quality is highly valued at Logent. When personal and company values align, it’s extremely easy to drive things forward,” Janne shares.

He is excited to work with a major healthcare logistics customer and emphasizes active and open communication as key to successful collaboration.

“Being closely involved with the customer is crucial. Active and open communication enables effective collaboration. In Lahti, customer cooperation has been exemplary, making it easy to engage fully,” says Janne.

Continuous improvement with a relaxed approach

Janne’s first weeks at Logent have been inspiring and rewarding. Familiarizing himself with new information and Logent’s operating methods has been a top priority. He has received a warm welcome and looks forward to participating in various projects and tasks.

“Information overload and the hospital’s very similar-looking corridors can be a bit dizzying. I’ve been received exceptionally well, and I’m eager to join multiple projects and assignments,” Janne notes.

The Lahti office fosters a positive atmosphere, and Janne is convinced that teamwork and continuous development are part of Logent’s DNA. He also emphasizes the importance of ongoing improvement and encourages small changes.

“Even small improvements can make a big difference. And we must not forget that a small adjustment can enhance comfort or environmental performance. We can’t stand still; development is necessary. Small improvements can bring major changes. Some people fear the word ‘change,’ but it doesn’t have to be big; changes can also be small steps that help us do things better,” Janne explains.

He looks forward to what the future holds and believes that his role will grow both in customer collaboration and project work.

“More responsibilities will come as I become more involved with customer relationships and operational models. Right now, it’s half learning and half project work. There’s plenty to do, and soon the wheels will start turning in full swing,” Janne envisions.
