Carlos Salinas, who works at Logent’s Tampere unit, is an experienced logistics professional. He joined Logent through a business transfer in 2016, after having worked for a client company for over 10 years.
Carlos is skilled in both preparing materials required by clients and conducting final product quality checks. He started at Logent in production work and quickly advanced to team leader, where he was responsible not only for production tasks but also for ensuring smooth operational workflows and coaching team members.
In his current role as Supervisor, his responsibilities have expanded and become more diverse. In addition to managing employees, his role includes a wide range of other tasks.
“Besides daily supervision, I am involved in staff development, occupational safety, resource planning, and scheduling. I also handle customer inquiries regarding orders and delivery times, perform inventory calculations, and respond to urgent maintenance requests in production. Customer collaboration involves both daily communication and monthly meetings. All work-related information is recorded in the customer’s information system, so it’s important to ensure data is updated promptly,” Carlos explains.
The best part of the job is seeing the team succeed
According to Carlos, production work requires great precision. Every element in product manufacturing is measured carefully, and finished products undergo quality control together with the client’s product development engineers.
“All employees participate in quality control. We use a job rotation system, so everyone tries all tasks. In the beginning, we ensure that the employee has sufficient skills for the new task. A more experienced colleague trains and supervises alongside them,” Carlos explains.
Job rotation adds variety to the work and supports the organization of operational processes. At the Tampere unit, many employees have long careers, and rotating tasks helps maintain interest and motivation.
“I enjoy that my team is skilled and well-supported, and that employees like their work. Genuine interest in the job is one of the secrets to long careers. When teamwork works at every level, the work itself flows smoothly. The best part of the job is seeing the team succeed,” Carlos summarizes.
Leadership training that provides tools for success
Carlos has participated in Logent’s leadership training program, organized in collaboration with Hyria Education. The year-long program provided him with solid tools for success in a supervisory role.
“I had the opportunity to attend Logent’s leader training. We trained in several locations under Hyria’s guidance. As a new supervisor, I am constantly learning new tasks, and new challenges arise every day, so there’s a lot to learn. I am eager to continue developing my skills whenever possible. Continuous self-improvement is crucial for success in this role,” Carlos concludes.
